| We are a Christian home schooling family with eight children. We live on a 7-1/2 rural acreage nestled in the scenic, rolling hills of Holmes County, Ohio. Our little farm is complete with some wooded acreage, a pond stocked with fish, a large vegetable and herb garden, a few chickens, goats, a pony, and of course, our four-legged canine friends! We have been raising Golden Retriever puppies since 2004. Having animals to care for proved to be an excellent way for our children to learn responsibility. One of our goals for our family has been to teach them to be responsible, and to learn to work together as a family unit. We have a large, indoor heated/air-conditioned kennel, complete with outdoor provisions for the dogs. Our ultimate goal is to provide a nice, healthy puppy according to AKC standard not just for show quality but we endeavor to raise puppies that have good temperaments. We also do OFA health clearances on our dogs, and all of our puppies receive a thorough examination by our veterinarian before leaving for their new homes. Raising a litter of puppies requires a lot of hard work, time and energy! After a litter of puppies are born, we keep a 24 hour check on them. And being raised with our children, they are handled daily and receive hours of socialization, which we feel is very important in the life of a puppy in helping it to grow up to be the kind of adult that will be enjoyed for many years. If you are not familiar with training and raising a puppy, we highly recommend "puppy kindergarten" classes or "obedience classes" for your new puppy. This will be a tremendous help to you in teaching your dog to be a respectable canine citizen. As mentioned previously, it has been our vision to be able to work together as a family unit and eventually, the girls wanted to do more with their lives than just care for puppies, so we have downsized until we currently only have one male and one female. In 2010, we started a new enterprise of sewing handbags. We now have our own retail store and website where we can serve our customers better.
